Down Syndrome Forum was hold in Tokyo in August 25, 2002.
This is the biggest annual meeting for DS people, families and progessionals
in Japan.
The 8th Japan Down Syndrome Forum will be hold in
Fukuoka prefecture. in 2003

Hello Everyone,
We would like to welcome you to the Japan Down Syndrome Network Home Page.
We have developed these pages for you: Parents of children with disabilities
and persons in professional occupations relating to Down syndrome. We hope
you find information on the following pages helpful.
- JDSN is a
center dedicated to information and communication relating to Down syndrome
in Japan and worldwide. If you link this page to your page, the children
and parents will be pleased.
- At the annual
meeting of our association in 1995 in Tsukuba Science City, it was decided
that the network system for children with Down syndrome and their families
should be expanded.
- There are
over 80 regional parents groups and societies of Down syndrome families
in Japan. However, a national organization for regional parents groups and
professional groups has not been established.
- Therefore,
we decided to make this page and establish the Japan Down Syndrome Network
(JDSN) to promote systematic communication for our children.

JDSN Information
JDSN home page made by the Ibaraki Down Syndrome Association in 1995.
In August 1996, Japan Down Syndrome Committee was organized by parents, professionals
relating to DS people in Japan. The purpose of the committee is construct
better home page and database and communication network for DS people.We are preparing new version of the JDSN home page now. We also are
preparing detailed information of JDSN committee. Only Japanese Version was
completed.
We hope to link people and information for DS people worldwide.

Purpose of JDSN
- To provide
an international network system between parent groups, foundations, educational
institutions and medical sites.
- To improve
the environment of children with Down syndrome.
- To act as
a window for communication between Japanese and foreign associations.
- To unite
the many regional parent groups in Japan.
- To solve
many problems related to Down syndrome -- educational, medical, social,
personal, familiar, etc. -- and to help realize a happy, comfortable society
and environment.
